“GRANDADDY” RIFLE TROPHY ELK HUNT
Units 66A – 76 | October 1st-14th
This hunt is probably the Granddaddy of all Idaho hunts… A hunters dream. This area is approximately 100 miles long and 30 miles wide. A good portion of the time you will hear that prolonged undeniable cry of rutting bull elk… yep they are in the rut and bugling in the cows. It’s like opening day each morning… This is a controlled draw hunt with only 35 tags available for the whole area, so you are not competing with a lot of hunters on this hunt. We have two (2) allocated tags for this October 1st hunt, but we also guide hunters that are lucky enough to draw the tag on their own. In 2013 we had three (3) hunters – one got his bull on our first morning. He just relaxed and enjoyed the scenery for the rest of their hunt. By the third day, all three had their bulls.
This hunt is a fully guided hunt (1 hunter per guide) and hunted out of the lodge. This hunt is for 5 days. Each day you are transported to a different area In these units to hunt. We use horses to hunt and mules to pack out the harvested animals.
